To qualify to register to vote, a person must:
How do I register?
We have applications in our office that you can mail into the Board of Elections. You can also register at libraries and the Board of Election Headquarters (map). You can also download the application at the Board of Election website.
What do I need to register?
If you register in person, you need to present two forms of identification, at least one of which must show your present address. Acceptable forms of identification include your Driver’s License, state ID, utility bill, mail, paycheck, bank statement, and lease. If you register via mail, you will be asked to present these forms of ID the next time you vote.

What if I miss the registration deadline?
Grace-period registration and voting is the only way to register or change your address or name after the regular registration period ends. It is also the only way to vote if you are not registered or if your voter registration is not up to date.
